Management Team
Mr. Rasmussen has over 25 years of professional experience
in the mining industry as a geophysicist / geologist. He
was appointed President of Eaglecrest in January 2007, adding
to his previous title of Chief Operating Officer and member
of the Board of Directors. Mr. Rasmussen has held senior
positions with mining exploration companies in North and
South America and worked as a consultant with clients that
included Teck Cominco Ltd., Quadra Mining Ltd. and Mansfield
Minerals Inc. His experience includes conducting and managing
all geological and geophysical aspects of exploration, commercial
transactions and investor relations. His prior employment
included four years with Newmont Exploration Ltd., 12 years
with the Kennecott Exploration / Rio Tinto group, including
three years as Country Manager of Argentina and Bolivia.
Most recently, Mr. Rasmussen was Chief Geophysicist with
White Knight Resources. Mr. Rasmussen is an active member
of the Society of Exploration Geologists, Northwest Mining
Association and the Geologic Society of Nevada. He graduated
with a Master of Science from the University of Utah, and
holds Bachelor of Science degrees in geology and physics
from Southern Oregon State College.
Dr. Christensen worked with Newmont Mining Corporation for
over twenty years. His most recent position was as Exploration
Manager – Bolivia. He was responsible for mine geology
at the Kori Kollo mine—then the largest gold mine
in Bolivia—as well as leading all of Newmont’s
exploration programs in Bolivia. Before his posting in Bolivia,
he was Newmont’s Chief Geologist—responsible
for oversight of the technical quality of Newmont's worldwide
geology programs. When he was Newmont’s Exploration
Manager in the late 1980’s, he guided the exploration
teams that were responsible for transforming the Carlin
Trend from a single mine into the largest gold district
in the US—and one of the most prolific gold districts
in the world. Dr. Christensen has participated in exploration
and mine development programs in 26 countries. He holds
a PhD in Geology from Stanford and is an AIPG Certified
Professional Geologist and a Qualified Person.
Thomas Henricksen has 35 years of experience in the mineral
exploration industry. Previous employers include Bear Creek
Mining Company, Kennecott Exploration and Rio Tinto Exploration.
During the past 10 years he has been a consultant geologist
in South America, holding various positions with Rio Tinto
Exploration in Peru and Bolivia and Norsemont Mining in
Peru. He is currently consulting for Apoquindo Minerals
in Peru and Chile. Dr. Henricksen received his B.Sc. in
Geology from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh in
1969, and his PhD in Economic Geology from Oregon State
University in 1974.
Mr. Zdebiak finished his post secondary education in 1980.
Paul, successfully earned two diplomas, One in Arts &
Science, the other in Finance and Investment. Initial business
experience started as a life underwriter with North American
Life in 1980. In 1984, Paul successfully completed both
the Canadian and the US. Futures Examinations and was granted
the title of "Registered Futures Representative"
(RCR). Paul joined Conti Commodities of Vancouver, BC, specialized
in gold futures trading, including using options on gold
futures contracts. Later on Conti Commodities was acquired
by Refco Commodities. In 1988, Paul successfully completed
both the Canadian Securities Examination (Honours) and the
Registered Representative Examination. in 1988, Paul joined
Georgia Pacific Securities of Vancouver BC as a "Registered
Investment Advisor" specializing in small capitalization
companies including equity financings. Also in 1988, Paul
successfully completed level one of the CFA program. In
1990 he joined the equity firm of McDermid St. Lawrence
in Vancouver, BC., which was well known for its expertise
in mining equities. Paul started to specialize in Latin
American mining properties as of 1991, travelling to: Costa
Rica, Brazil, Venezuela and Bolivia seeking investment grade
mining properties. In 1994, Paul started to raise the initial
equity investment in Eaglecrest Explorations and was a large
supporter of the Bolivian Project. In 1996 Paul, visited
Bolivia to perform his due diligence on the Eaglecrest program
and has continued to support the project. In October 2002,
Paul left the securities industry after 14 years to become
a Director of Eaglecrest Explorations Ltd. Paul has continued
to raised funds for the Company and help perform the daily
duties; including shareholder communication, stock certificate
issuance, issuers correspondence, news releases and dissemination,
trade show presentations and maintaining compliance with
the Toronto Stock Exchange and the British Columbia Securities
Commission.
Mr. Callaghan became a Director of EEL on February 15, 2005.
Mr. Callaghan is President and Director of several mining
and exploration companies, listed on the TSX Venture Exchange.
He is President and controlling shareholder of Standard
Drilling & Engineering Ltd.
Mr.
Howard Stevenson, MBA has 20 years of experience in
mineral economics, financial evaluation and merger and
acquisition, 18 years of which were spent with Gold Fields
of South Africa working on projects around the world. Mr.
Stevenson began as an engineer with Gencor, then after two
and half years joined Gold Fields in the Mineral Economics
Division, which was a unique multi-disciplinary team of
mining investment analysts that undertook all the financial
and economic analysis related to Gold Fields' strategic
business decisions. Mr. Stevenson also transitioned to
International Acquisitions Manager for the new Gold Fields
Ltd. then Vice President, Business Development for Gold
Fields Exploration Inc. in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Stevenson
later became Managing Director of Gold Fields Finland Oy and
General Manager of the Arctic Platinum project for four
years, then returned to Denver as Vice President of
Corporate Development for Gold Fields Limited. When Gold
Fields acquired Bolivar Gold Corporation in March 2006, Mr.
Stevenson was appointed Vice President, Venezuelan
Operations. After one year running Gold Fields’ Venezuelan
operations Mr. Stevenson joined Meridian Gold Company as
Vice President of Business Development until its merger with
Yamana Gold.
Mr. Jung became the Chief Financial Officer of EEL in October
2003 and has over 25 years experience in the areas of finance
and business with a major international chartered accounting
firm and a TSX Venture Exchange company.
Walter Lienhard has more than 25 years of mining experience
with Bear Creek Mining Company and Kennecott Exploration.
In his previous positions, Mr. Lienhard was involved in
all phases of exploration in Latin America, including project
and country management with Kennecott and junior exploration
companies. He received a B.Sc. in Geology from the University
of Arizona in 1976.
Dr. Campbell joined Eaglecrest on January 1, 2008, as Senior
Geologist for the Company's San Simon project in Bolivia.
Dr. Campbell has over 20 years of exploration experience,
including companies such as Bolivar Goldfields and Bema
in Venezuela and Chile, as well as other junior companies
in Nevada and Colorado. Dr. Campbell received his PhD in
Economic Geology from the University of Nevada, Reno in
2006. He received an MSc in Economic Geology from Colorado
State University, Fort Collins, in 1994 and his BSc in Geology
from Fort Lewis, Colorado in 1985. Dr. Campbell is bilingual
due to his extensive work experience in South America.
Mr. Ramos joined Eaglecrest on February 1 2008 as Resource
Specialist and Computer Analyst. Mr. Ramos has 10 years
experience in Argentina and Nevada with all aspects of database
management and computer skills, and most importantly with
multiple resource calculations for companies such as Gryphon
Gold Corp, Midway Gold Corp and Golden Phoenix Minerals
Inc. Mr. Ramos received his BSc in Computer, Applications
for Metals Exploration and Mining from the University of
Salta, Salta, Argentina, in 1996.
Dr Forgues is a corporate lawyer who sits on or has been
on the board of several banks, insurance companies and industrial
enterprises in Bolivia. As well as being President of EEBOL,
Dr. Forgues also provides legal advice and community relations
oversight.
Mr. King is partner of the law firm Holmes and King and
provides legal advice to the Company. Mr. King became the
Corporate Secretary of EEL in October 2003 and he has over
25 years of experience in corporate law, finance and securities
industry.
Mr. Hawthorn who has been an independent consultant for
the Company since March 2004, is a graduate of the Queens
University, Canada with a BSc from 1964. He has more than
40 years mineral processing experience in the mining and
exploration industry with major mining companies and since
1982 as an independent mineral processing consultant working
in North and South America, Asia, Europe and Africa in precious
and base metals mines and projects.
